Howl Camp-Out: July 12-15, 2018
Back to Basics: A Kinky Women’s Campout presented by Bad Girls
Bad Girls are hosting our annual women’s weekend event! All self-identified women (ages 18 and older) are invited to join us in the wild. (You decide whether we’re the group for you; click here for more information.)
Members of Bad Girls and sister leather organizations are eligible for discounts. Contact: treasurer
This photo was taken from the food shelter, looking out over the largest of the three lakes on the property; note the “float” where we basked in the sun:
The Setting: Rustic and Rugged
We will be camping on private land with access to a secluded spring-fed lake, a cozy fire pit, and a star-lit dungeon. We will have crosses, massage tables, a spanking bench and a sling, among other furniture, under our canopy. Safer sex supplies will be available as well.
This is a no-frills camping event. There is a tap for drinking water onsite, as well as limited electrical for campers needing CPAP (please contact the Board in advance – CPAP spaces are limited) and a refrigerator for medications. Please bring ice for your coolers; BG will have limited ice available. There are porta-janes (and BG is renting an extra-roomy porta-jane), and BG will be setting up a simple shower for communal use. All garbage must be packed out at the end of the event. We appreciate the opportunity to camp on private woman-owned land, and intend to leave the space even cleaner than we found it!
HOWL this year is BYOF (Bring Your Own Food). There is a “kitchen area” with picnic tables and several propane grills and camping stoves will be available for everyone to use. Due to fire hazards, no fires/cooking is allowed anywhere except the kitchen area and the fire pit.
Access to this private space begins at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 12 and we must be off the premises by 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 15.
There is a quarter-mile trail from the parking lot down to the camping event near the lake; this is walkable for many people, but we will have a shuttle service at the beginning and end of the event to help get your gear up and down the hill. Depending on when you arrive, there may be a slight wait for this service. If you have mobility issues and would like of the limited campsites close to the porta-janes, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to save one for you.
If you remember the “float” in the previous picture: this shot was taken on Saturday night, FROM that float in the middle of the lake, looking back at our lighted dungeon (on the upper floor of the boathouse) and the conversation / skill share space below it:
Ticket Sales end on July 11, 2018; however, this event is limited to 50 full weekend tickets and up to 10 day passes (no overnight camping for day pass holders). Ticket prices include all amenities onsite. There will be limited check-in times for day passes.
- General public/non-member: $75
- Bad Girl basic members and sister groups: $60
- Bad Girl premium members: $50
- Day pass(no camping): $35
No Refunds. You can transfer your ticket to another qualified attendee, who can pay any difference in ticket price.
No onsite registration, you must purchase your tickets before the cut-off date of July 11.
Financial assistance is available for those who need it: We have 5 work-study scholarships available, involving a minimum of 8 hours of volunteering (you will be assigned tasks based on ability). If interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Skill Sharing and Play
Like a kinky un-conference, we will have a skill sharing meetup board on which people interested in teaching one of their skills (or discussing one of their passions) can post topics or information on kinds of play they are looking for or wanting to present. It’s up to us!
We ask all attendees to practice risk aware consensual kink, for the safety of themselves and others. No alcohol or drugs please. Fire play may be restricted to the fire pit area or on the dock only. Safer sex supplies will be available in the dungeon.
A Few More Details
This space has only what we bring to it. We will be sending out a recommended packing list to all attendees, which includes flashlights or lanterns, sunscreen, water storage containers, trash bags, and all other preparations for rain or shine camping. (The owner says there are few mosquitoes because the lake water is constantly in motion, but you might want to add bug spray to your list if you’re susceptible to bites.) You may bathe/swim in the lake or hang a bag of water for a quick shower, and there will be a solar-powered pump/bucket/handheld shower for everyone to use.
The property is only 20 minutes from I-205, so ticket holders may, if they prefer, sleep elsewhere and drive in and out in order to participate in what could be regarded as a four day long play party. Motorized vehicles must remain in the upper parking lot. No RV or car camping is allowed.
NO DOGS except service animals.
