Howl Camp-Out: July 21-23, 2017

Bad Girls is hosting our annual women’s weekend event! All self-identified women 18 and older (plus people who identify as butch, femme, boi, agendered, genderqueer and two-spirit) are invited to join us in the wild. Tickets are now available for advance purchase (no sales on site) through Brown Paper Tickets through July 17, 2017.

Members of Bad Girls and sister leather organizations are eligible for discounts. Contact: treasurer@pdxbadgirls.net for your discount code, or Bad Girls members, please check your email (discount codes were sent to current members on May 22).

This photo was taken from the food shelter, looking out over the largest of the three lakes on the property; note the “float” where we basked in the sun: HOWL_lake_in_daylight_cropped

The Setting: Rustic and Rugged

We will be camping on private land with access to a secluded spring-fed lake, a cozy fire pit, and a star-lit dungeon. Members have offered crosses, massage tables, and a spanking bench among other furniture to be placed under our canopy. Safe sex supplies will be available as well.

Water on site comes from a pump; please bring your own containers to fill. We will be using porta-janes and hand sanitizer to stay clean, running a generator for limited power and lighting, and hauling out our own rubbish. We appreciate the opportunity to camp on this land, and intend to leave the space even cleaner than we find it.

Access to this private space begins at 3:00 pm on Friday and we will be leaving by 3:00 pm on Sunday.

There is a 1/4 mile trail from the parking lot down to the campsites near the water; this is walkable for many people, but we will also be using the landowner’s all-terrain-vehicles to move people and their gear up and down as needed. Depending on when you arrive Friday there may be a slight wait for this service. If you have mobility issues and would like a campsite close to the porta-janes, please let us know and we will do our best to save one for you.

If you remember the “float” in the previous picture: this shot was taken on Saturday night, FROM that float in the middle of the lake, looking back at our lighted dungeon (on the upper floor of the boathouse) and the conversation / skill share space below it:

The Meals: Convenient & Delicious

Coffee, tea, water and trail mix will be available at all times, for all attendees. Catering details and prices will be posted here soon.

Skill Sharing and Play

In the style of a kinky un-conference, we will have a skill sharing meetup board on which people interested in teaching one of their skills (or discussing one of their passions) can post topics … or information on kinds of play they’re looking for … or … it’s up to us!

We ask all attendees to practice risk aware consensual kink, for the safety of themselves and others. This event is latex inclusive and drug and alcohol free. Depending on the weather, fire play may be restricted to the fire pit area only.

A Few More Details

This space has only what we bring to it. A recommended packing list might include flashlights or lanterns, sunscreen, water storage containers, trash bags, and all other preparations for “rain or shine” survival. You may bathe/swim in the lake or hang a bag of water for a quick shower. (The owner says there are few mosquitoes because the lake water is constantly in motion, but if you have concerns, add bug spray to your list.)

Having emphasized “roughing it”: the property is only 20 minutes from I-205, so ticket holders may if they prefer sleep elsewhere and drive in and out in order to participate in what could be regarded as a 45 hour play party. Motorized vehicles (other than the two ATVs provided by the landowner) must remain in the upper parking lot.

Ticket Prices

Admission includes all amenities on site plus five catered meals, if you select the meal ticket option. Please visit the Brown Paper Ticket link for all pricing options, or see the FetLife event listing (link below).

Members of our sister organizations, such as Bound By Desire, CPSC, Dykes on Bikes, Exiles, and Seattle Girls of Leather, are eligible for the Bad Girls basic member price. Please contact: treasurer@pdxbadgirls.net for your discount code.

We offer an option for camping only with no food included, but all other amenities included (dungeon; swimming in the private lake; skill share; coffee, tea, water, and trail mix)

Following recent tradition, we plan to offer a full or partial Howl scholarship. If you are interested, or interested in contributing to the scholarship fund, contact our Board chair at chair at pdxbadgirls.net for more information. All other questions related to this event can be directed to Bad Girls via our Facebook group or the FetLife event listing. Thank you.
